Together We Are Americans©

Together We Are Americans©

My eyes are filled and overflow for my brother.

Though from different clans, we are together in spirit and in pride and have shared the sacred banner and uniform of freedom, for those of past we did and do today, for all those who will follow in the future.

Whatever happened to those dreams? ©

Whatever happened to those dreams? ©

Whatever happened to those dreams of childhood and as a young adult?

I still dream occasionally and write about such things in my ramblings, RandomlyRamblingRick.

Today, I am content, albeit reluctantly, to close unwritten chapters in a larger volume of my unfinished works, in favor of convention and necessity. I still attempt to slay a few dragons, find cause to help another, take time to count blessings and find appreciation for all of good.

If I were offering advice to those new and young dreamers of today’s world, I might say, take your dreams as far as you can take them and they will take you the rest of the way. Believe in yourself, if what you are dreaming and believing is worthy of your devotion and energies to reach fulfillment.

Perhaps, if you allow your dreams to live as long as you live, you will not have to ask, whatever happened to those dreams of childhood and as a young adult?

Prayer that St. Patrick is said to have prayed every day:

This is the Prayer that St. Patrick is said to have prayed every day:

Worth praying ourselves;

St. Patrick's Breastplate or The Deer's Cry

I arise todayI arise today Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity, Through a belief in the Threeness, Through confession of the Oneness Of the Creator of creation. Through the strength of Christ's birth and His baptism, Through the strength of His crucifixion and His burial, Through the strength of His resurrection and His ascension, Through the strength of His descent for the judgment of doom. I arise today I arise today through the strength of HeavenThrough the strength of the love of cherubim,

In obedience of angels, In service of archangels, In the hope of resurrection to meet with reward, In the prayers of patriarchs, In preachings of the apostles, In faiths of confessors, In innocence of virgins, In deeds of righteous men. the rays of the sun, the radiance of the moon, the splendor of fire, the speed of lightening, the swiftness of the wind, the depth of the sea, the stability of the earth the firmness of rock.

I arise today through the power of God: God's might to comfort me, God's wisdom to guide me, God's eye to look before me, God's ear to hear me, God's word to speak for me, God's hand to lead me, God's way to lie before me, God's shield to protect me, God's Heavenly Host to save me from the snares of the devil, from temptations to sin, from all who wish me ill, from near and afar, alone and with others.

May Christ shield me todayagainst poison and fire, against drowning and wounding, so that I may fulfill my mission and bear fruit in abundance. Christ behind and before me, Christ behind and above me, Christ with me and in me, Christ around and about me, Christ on my right and on my left, Christ when I lie down at night, Christ when I rise in the morning, Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me, Christ in the mouth of everyone that speaks of me, Christ in every eye that sees me, Christ in every ear that hears me.

Some Easter Thoughts

Some Easter Thoughts

This Year at Easter ©

This year, Easter is within the month of March, living its promises every day,
Easter is all about reliving the ultimate Gift, the absolute Sacrifice,
the exquisite giving of Love; He lived, He died, He lives again today.
All Praises to our ever living Lord, our God, who for us goes all the way.

About experiencing “The Passion of the Christ”©

Several years ago, I attended the showing of what I humbly describe as the most unforgettable cinema of my 60-some years, "The Passion of the Christ".

The story, Christ's Passion, the events preceding, all are occurring again, as they do every Lenten season; hence, giving me cause to resurrect what I wrote following that year's exceptional opportunity, that being, viewing of the "Passion of the Christ"

It was wonderful and horrible, reassuring and scary, all together in an emotional rollercoaster that touched the very core of my being. I saw, in the biblical characters surrounding the crucifixion, the best and worst of myself.

Remembering our Veterans and Troops at Easter and Always

To Never be Forgotten©

How many times has the “story of stories” been repeated, by millions of families throughout the ages since?

“He gave His only Begotten Son”, rings on and on. May that sacrifice never be forgotten.

Likewise, millions of other sons and daughters have been given, in their service; to God, to Country, to Family, to Community.

They, too, gave up their begotten children, their loved ones, for us, for all of us, to never be forgotten.

As was His sacrifice, is theirs, for the ever living hope of futures bright, we join in humble gratitude, to honor and to comfort all who need, and to never be forgotten.
